WHO WE ARE

Hi everyone! Thank you for parking on our page for a little while. Allow me introduce myself....

I'm Kim Gunderson, the Owner & Operator of Seaside Swirl & Bright Eyed Kitchens.  As a little Alpharetta, Georgia girl around the age of 8, my mother brought me to the kitchen, talked about how a welcoming attitude and southern hospitality will take me far in life...that it's simple act of love and respect.  She sang the blues and praised God at the same time.  I figure she found healing in that too, which is my why...

Bright Eyed Kitchens was created for many reasons, but primarily paying homage to her, Mama Myrtle, for bringing me into the kitchen in the first place.  She showed me that the art of a simple, wholesome meal, warms the tummy and soul with pleasing goodness.  I've always made it a point to have too much than not enough, because somebody might not get fed that day.  I guess the worse thing that can happen is an overstuffed refrigerator, but, hey....there are worse things in my opinion.  Who's down for some leftovers, or better yet....let's share what we have with others!

Secondly, it's an homage to my first cooking experience, a ground beef hamburger casserole-goulash "stick to your ribs" meal that didn't make sense at such a young age.  It was quite a mystery but a visiting family lapped it up like they haven't eaten in years!  "Hmmm. now what did I put in that, I asked myself?"  Maybe it was chocolate! Again, there are worse things.

Thirdly, in our busy world today, moments of relaxation and time with the family are few. Which is why I wanted to begin Bright Eyed Kitchens.  Give the chef a break, whether it's grandma, grandpa, mom, dad, aunt, uncle, brother, sister, cousin, or friend.  Time is a precious thing you can't get back and moments with your loved ones are pricless. 

Peruse our offerings, take your time. What's listed are things that get asked for frequently.  If you have a taste for something different, or have food sensitivities, please let me know. I can accomodate to most mainstream diet styles.  

It was  "virtually" nice to meet you and I hope to shower some southern hospitality upon you.  And if our paths never cross, I encourage you to do something nice for yourself and have the most wonderful day, sunshine!
